Frequently Asked Questions about Stack2Pay
Everything you need to know about ISO 20022 XML generation, bank compatibility, liquidity control, formats, and data security.
1. What is Stack2Pay and how does it work? ▼
Stack2Pay is an independent, browser-based payment aggregation utility for businesses, accountants, and freelancers. It works in three simple steps:
- Intake: Drop invoices (PDF, images) into the workspace, or forward them to your personal Stack2Pay email address.
- Automated Extraction: Our engine extracts creditor names, IBAN/account details, amounts, and due dates directly into an organized queue.
- Batch Export: With one click, export a standard ISO 20022 XML file (pain.001.001.03) and upload it directly into your corporate online bank to pay all bills at once.
2. Which banks support Stack2Pay's ISO 20022 XML payment files? ▼
Stack2Pay produces certified pain.001.001.03 XML files adhering to the official ISO 20022 standard recognized across corporate banking systems.
European & International Banks: Deutsche Bank, BNP Paribas, Commerzbank, ING, HSBC, SEB, DNB, Handelsbanken, UBS, and any bank in the SEPA zone supporting bulk payment file uploads.
Nordic & Danish Banks: Danske Bank (District), Nordea (Corporate Netbank), Jyske Bank Erhverv, Nykredit, Sydbank, Spar Nord, Arbejdernes Landsbank, and all regional banks connected to BEC, Bankdata, or SDC.
3. Which European payment standards and invoice formats are supported? ▼
Stack2Pay is engineered specifically for European domestic and cross-border commercial banking, recognizing the national invoice standards of Europe's largest economies:
- Germany (Deutschland): Full support for SEPA Credit Transfers with structured Verwendungszweck (remittance reference), EPC QR-Codes (GiroCode), German IBAN/BIC, and direct parsing of ZUGFeRD 2.x and XRechnung e-invoicing standards.
- United Kingdom: Automatic extraction of UK domestic Sort Code (6 digits) and Account Number (8 digits) for BACS and Faster Payments, alongside UK IBAN (GB...) and payment references.
- France: Comprehensive parsing of the French RIB (Relevé d'Identité Bancaire) elements — Code Banque, Code Guichet, Numéro de Compte, and Clé RIB — as well as French IBAN (FR...) and Factur-X / Chorus Pro compliant references.
- Italy (Italia): Full recognition of Italian IBANs with CIN (Codice Identificativo Nazionale), Codice Destinatario / PEC linked to the national SDI (Sistema di Interscambio / FatturaPA), and CIG/CUP public procurement codes.
- Poland (Polska): Extraction of 26-digit NRB domestic accounts and Polish IBANs (PL...), with full accommodation for the Split Payment Mechanism (MPP – Mechanizm Podzielonej Płatności) for VAT segregation and KSeF e-invoice references.
- Nordic & Swiss Standards: Comprehensive recognition of Danish FIK slips (+71, +04, +15, +73), Norwegian KID codes, Swedish Bankgiro/PlusGiro, and Swiss QR-Bills.
Supported File Formats & Currencies: PDF, PNG, JPG, and WebP (up to 5 MB per file) across EUR, GBP, USD, PLN, CHF, DKK, SEK, and NOK.
4. Why use Stack2Pay instead of manual typing or ERP treasury modules? ▼
Stack2Pay solves two primary bottlenecks for growing companies:
- Zero Typos and Time Waste: Manually keying dozens of 20-digit IBANs or reference numbers wastes hours and leads to payment rejections. A single batch upload eliminates manual typing completely.
- Avoid Monthly Integration Tolls: Traditional accounting/ERP software often charges 30 to 80 EUR every month just to unlock bank file exports. Stack2Pay provides this functionality independently and completely free of charge.
5. Can I adjust due dates and split payments before generating the file? ▼
Yes, you keep 100% control over your cash flow and liquidity timing.
Inside your queue, you can postpone any payment with preset quick actions (+5, +10, +15, or +30 days), or pick a custom date via the date picker. The bank will only execute the payment on that specific due date.
If you need to make a partial payment or deduct a disputed amount or credit note, you can edit the payment amount directly in the list prior to generating the XML file.
6. How does the dedicated invoice forwarding email address work? ▼
When you register a free account, you receive a unique forwarding address (e.g., your-token@stack2pay.com).
Simply forward incoming invoices from your mail client (Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail, etc.) to this address. Stack2Pay parses attachments in the background and places them into your pending queue. You can also configure an allowed-senders whitelist in Settings to prevent unauthorized submissions.
7. Is my data secure, confidential, and GDPR-compliant? ▼
Confidentiality and strict data minimization are our foundational principles:
- Encrypted EU Infrastructure: All communication uses strict TLS encryption, and file processing occurs exclusively within secure European data centers.
- Volatile Memory for Guests: Guest conversions run entirely in volatile RAM and are permanently wiped immediately after file download.
- User-Controlled Retention: Account holders can configure automated retention periods (30, 90, 180, or 365 days) or purge individual invoices and runs on demand.
- Zero AI Model Training: Your financial documents are never shared or used for machine learning or LLM training.
8. What does it cost to use Stack2Pay? ▼
Stack2Pay is 100% free to use:
- Free Guest Access: Convert up to 5 invoices per batch instantly without signing up.
- Free Registered Account: Expands your capacity up to 50 invoices per batch, activates your private email forwarding address, unlocks flexible due date control, and provides a searchable monthly payment archive with full re-download capability.
